The audio says, "Hatutaimba wimbo." So I think the correct answer should be - We will not sing a song.

This is still the case - only "hatutaimba" is written, but the audio says "hatutaimba wimbo."

The audio plays "Hatutaimba wimbo". Reported 27th February 2019

04JAN2020 Audio still says Hatutaimba wimbo. Reported and discussed. (I remember reading one of the mod posts saying that discussions are more easily noticed and corrected.)

Audio still wrong 23rd March 2020

Why does it reject "We shall not sing"? They are identical in every respect.

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/AGreatUserName

Well, "we shall not" is quite old-fashioned and I don't know anyone who actually talks like that these days, but yes, it should be accepted. Keep hitting the report button and one day, perhaps, these errors will be fixed.

In the UK it is still quite common.

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/TheresaJoh295047

As it should be. "We will not" and "We shall not" actually have slightly different meanings, though not many people make the distinction.

01/04/2021. Not yet corrected. It looks like there is no more support for this course!!!!

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/LatetoLear

The audio includes the word wimbo....song!

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Naishorua1

The audio says hatutaimba wimbo but the answer only accepts we will not sing..the wimbo was said but not given in the answer

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/tanu776305

Audio is incorrect

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/DavidMarec4

"Hatutaimba" Duo translation: "We will not sing". Duo audio clearly indicates: "Hatutaimba wimbo" The discrepancy here is obvious and has often been reported. No correction has been made to this discrepancy.

So: What's up? Hear one way. Translate another way. ?????????????

Or consider other possibilities: "We will not sing (it) the song --Hatutaiimba wimbo"? (I don't know if this is correct or would better match Duo audio to Duo translation.) ??????????????

So little time. Sometimes - headaches. Thanks to all who contribute to these discussions.

The sound and written swahili are different

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Naishorua1

The audio definitely says 'hatutaimba wimbo'. In the answer, the word 'wimbo' is not included and my answer was marked as incorrect.

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/DesSchafli

Audio and answer diferent, please correct

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/JudithJane

7 May 2021 "wimbo" is still in the audio

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/AlanoDel

And it will stay there as there is no more support for the course (at least this seems to be be the case)
