audio on or off

I used to be able to speak and the program would accept my pronunciation if correct or make me repeat if I was incorrect. But this facility has gone. Is it possible to get it back?

As far as I know, the update a few months ago removed this from all except for the Chrome browser.

If you visit settings and you have the option "Microphone" then set it to "on" and click "Save changes" at the top of the page. If you don't have that option, then you're on a browser which Duolingo aren't fully supporting (and you may also experience other side effects such as audio failing to play properly, and Labs-Stories not loading any of the stories, or you may be lucky enough not to experience any other side effects).

If your browser doesn't have "Microphone" as an option in settings, then the way to get it back would be to switch to the Chrome browser - so long as you don't mind doing that for Duolingo.

Have you checked your Duo settings? Maybe the microphone is turned off.

Maybe you have become better in your French pronunciation? The audio recognition is not perfect, and will only make you redo parts it really couldn't discern. Besides, you should view the audio exercises as an opportunity to pronounce the written language, not as an objective judgement on your pronunciation skills.
