I think anyone whose been using Duolingo for a while will agree that after getting a few hundred lingots they seem a bit pointless. How about introducing virtual stamps? For a few lingots, you can build up a collection of virtual stamps from countries of the languages you are learning. This motivates people to try to get lingots and therefore they learn more. What does everyone think?
I support this wholeheartedly. I would also love stamps of other places like Tatarstan, Bashkortostan or Adygea.
I love it! We could have a virtual passport on our profile to store our stamps in. :D
If we had a virtual passport, it would contain the places where the language was most widely spoken! :D
Pretty cool idea! So, we could collect them all?
By any chance, could we stamp them anywhere?
Could we get Course Stamps for completing trees, too?
How much do you think a stamp should cost?
Nothing. Why do people in real life collect stamps?
Idea: stamp them somewhere? Maybe we should get stamps for completing trees instead.
So from virtual lingots to virtual stamps! Seems as pointless as the lingots.
Hmm, the stamps would at least look better. Perhaps we could stamp them somewhere?
But you're right in that they're pointless. They're supposed to be. If they had any point, they'd have to be worth something like real money.
