Banter in French?

Hi guys,

Could someone tell me what the French equivalent of "banter" would be?

That's what I saw before, but my French tutor(a native speaker)said that "badinage" is a very old fashioned way of saying it.

Did you ask your French tutor how they would say it? Mind you, the word banter is fairly rare in English as well.
