Latin needs more recognition.

I want to learn it so badly, lol

Thanks for reposting this discussion.

Another weird thing is the Activity Stream announcement. It used to have -200+ downvotes. Now look at it: It has 1 upvote.

Something spooky is going on here...

For some reason, I'm getting an Error 404 from the announcement.

That's weird. I could access it with no problem.

It has so many replies (nearly all of them criticizing the decision one way or another) that Duolingo usually gives up trying to load it and 404's it.

Does Duo naturally miss up-votes? Sometimes I create posts and they lose up-votes, but it doesn't seem likely that any user just suddenly stopped up-voting it. There's something going on here...

  1. Natural Duo Bugs and Problems
  2. seems likely
  3. there are several of them
  4. it's possible when talking about up-votes

  5. Users down-voted It

  6. less likely
  7. many people must've down-voted
  8. nearly impossible

  9. Users Stopped Up-Voting It

  10. average likelihood
  11. for posts with many up-votes, unlikely
  12. for 3-year old posts, unlikely

  13. Duolingo Team Actions are exposed!

  14. near impossible
  15. team giving tons of up-votes, or changing vote numbers?
  16. team controlling votes on threads

I don't know whether or not something has happened, but anyway I went to look how things currently stand.

In the top all time list the third most requested language not already developed or in development is Latin Let's Add Latin with 683 votes. The two above it are Finnish (2702 votes) and English for Georgian speakers (797 votes).

Anyway, I'll hope that any oddities are soon resolved.

Before it was the second most requested language with the post that the OP put in their post.

Oh no! The English for Georgian post has been bugged too! https://www.duolingo.com/comment/10727793
