“I am a deeply superficial person." - Andy Warhol

My favourite oxymoron. If only he had added some zombies to it. Or dragons.

"I always advise people never to give advice." — P. G. Wodehouse

"A joke is a very serious thing." — Charles Churchill

Love these so much lol!

Glad you did! :-) I enjoyed this post so much that I thought I'd come back to it today just in case anyone made further comments to it. Imagine my surprise when I realized that I don't even receive an email notifications for a direct reply!

I wish posts commented upon were automatically followed, email notifications were reliable, and the bell actually worked... so many things feel broken.

Ok. /end rant.

But I seriously love your posts on the idiosyncrasies within English grammar. THANKS!

Right now, we have to click the "follow discussion" button at the top of discussions to get the email notifications we used to get. (This is true even for people creating the discussions. Quite frustrating, iyam.) Early on, I created an email filter so all of my Duolingo notifications go into a separate folder than my inbox. Easier not to lose them among other mail. So, I haven't used the bell in years, thank goodness!) I'm glad you found your way back somehow. :)

Thanks Usagi, will take that under advisement. ;-)

Yes, quite tedious!

Now the song can't be gotten out of my head.

Not even by zombies?

Which would that be?

The one quoted in the comic.

OMG someone actually clicked on it! I'm very fond of you right now for that. I often think people don't click because I've had broken links sit for hours while people are commenting on a thing they haven't even read. So, I am super happy you've gone ahead and clicked because it's one of the funnier language pieces. :D

Your link was clicked by zombies (and by me).

Thank you, this is a treasure for my classroom.

Oh please do! Definitely read the response to passive voice zombies though. I'm sure some of your students will bring it up in class if you only show them the original. ;)
