My thread was deleted?
I created a thread in the Japanese section about Google Translate and there's only been responses for about 3-1/2 hours and then when I went to refresh for it, it was gone. Where did it go?
If a discussion post receives 5 or more down votes, the discussion is hidden from the forums. You'll be able to see here that it wasn't deleted, just hidden: https://www.duolingo.com/comment/25417026.
As for Google Translate, it fails notoriously for Asian languages in general. It's not perfect for non-Asian languages either.
I thought it was somehow because I violated the rules in there, but I see nothing violating. Why do people always just down vote my discussions I'm trying to promote? It's accurate for Turkish, and most people's opinions count that as an Asian language while it still is a Middle Eastern language but not a Semitic language like Arabic or a Slavic language like Russian, but an Indo European language too. I was just showing them how we do English in other places too. It's all the same everywhere exactly.
It's accurate for Turkish
GT is currently having an issue with sexist stereotyping gender ambiguous subjects. Outside of that, the engine must have gotten a serious update since the last time I was trying to employ it to help me in the forums. It was severely unreliable navigating between English and Turkish about a year and a half ago.
Edit: As for why people are down voting, I don't know. I only did a quick skim when I was snagging the link for you. Did you by chance commit a forum faux pas? See link to that list in the Duolingo Wiki & FAQ.
How do you italicize on duolingo? I thought it was highlight word + Control i. It didn't work!
I got it! I must be thinking of how you do it on showdown because I was wondering how it works on there. It works different everywhere!
