Finnish for English Speakers (FI-->EN) Weekly Update Thread 6/12
For those anticipating the FI-->EN Course, here are the updates so far:
Luis Von Ahn in a reddit Q & A has confirmed the possibility of a future Finnish Course.
Hungarian, another Uralic language, has been added to Duolingo. Hungarian, much like Finnish, has multiple cases, and lots of grammar rules. Hungarian would be a good base for the FI-->EN Course.
The Duolingo Owl icon for Duolingo Plus is wearing a spacesuit similar to the Finnish flag.
The Project Finnish post has lost most of its upvotes due to a glitch.
The Finnish Centenary on December 6th, 2017 has rekindled support for the FI-->EN Course.
finnishonduolingo is trending with people trying to get Duolingo to add the course to the incubator.
The FI-->EN team is gaining new members, and there is a growing demand for the course.

More tweeting at Duolingo for FI-->EN incubator release
In the incubator the "this course has not been started yet" is driving me crazy! I hope that Duolingo adds it in the next few hours, for the wait is so long. It has been years for me! I just hope that it will commence progress soon, and my best guess for contributors are Zzzzz..., annika_a, scarcerer, TL---, and a few that are inactive on the forums. I hope Duolingo Finnally adds Finnish!
That would be so terrible. Duolingo wants to open language learning to everyone, so I doubt they would do that, thankfully. I would be so angry that just because I didn't have the money I couldn't learn Finnish. Not only do I want to learn Finnish for fun, but for practical uses. I have some family that speaks Finnish fluently and Finland is #1 on my list of places to move (and it is a very long list).
I'll be posting on it every Wednesday to update anyone on any information regarding the FI-->EN course. Lot's of people don't know much about the status of the course, so i'll be digging around the internet for any info about the status. I have been waiting sooo long for the finnish course, and was hoping that something was going to be released today, however, so far, nothing has.
