My feedback for the creators
So I started using this course in the iOS beta but I stopped about half way through, i've recently come back and using it on PC is far far better, having used it quite a bit and wanting to continue using it i have thought about some ways the course can be improved.
Lessons on the phone are WAY too long on PC I can get through a lesson in 10-12 correct answers which is nice, it doesnt take too long and makes me want to move on to the next lesson, the main problem here is on the mobile side, I have to get maybe 18-20 answers correct, now this is good for reviewing and strengthening lessons you have completed but when trying to learn NEW stuff and PROGRESS you simply cannot use the phone app without succumbing to sheer boredom, now i dont know whether the creators have any control over this but I would tweak the mobile app so that it is more like the PC version to allow people to progress quicker but keep the reviewing sessions the same length.
colloquialisms and spelling ok while spelling hasnt been a big issue colloquialisms are a huge problem and very very inconsistent, I have even made many comments on the discussion pages for them on other peoples that were months in advance to me failing, the creators need to go in and add the colloquialisms for every single sentence, no this is not harsh, it's just what needs to be done to make this course usable, I am from the UK and failing questions because I did say pants which would technically be wrong because those are the things you wear under your trousers, I deliberately test the translations on most occassions by using synonyms that i likely know will not be accepted there are a few words that should be universally accepted because Brits and Aussies probably fail the most when it comes to the colloquialisms:
sneakers - trainers(UK), Runners(AU)
pants - Trousers
candy - sweets(UK), lollies(AU)
cell phone - Mobile/Mobile phone 휴대폰 literally means mobile phone
I cant think of any at the moment but there are quite a few and I fail very often just down to that, there are some other words like:
힘들어- this word has so many meanings and synonyms in english that to fail because I chose "difficult" and not "hard/tough"
여자 - I keep putting "girl" and imo that should be accepted, i have literally never come across someone that didnt use it to mean girl it's just too flexible for it to only mean "woman"
우리 - when referring to say family or your own stuff etc, it should be acceptable to say "my" and "our" it does not solely mean my or our, there is no context to most of the sentences so how do you know that 2 siblings arent talking to a person and it would be completely odd for you to say MY in english in this case so for it to only allow MY in all the translations is too limiting
there are quite a lot of these too, hopefully people are reporting them, the course feels very incomplete when you're failing due to an english answer that isnt accepted
this is all i can think of for now but I will come back and update if find anything that is seriously affecting my progress or the quality of the course

Great comments. I can't speak to your 휴대폰 experience, but I hope the PC course undergoes a lot of improvment before coming out of Beta. As it is, I find enjoyment, as you seem to as well, in suggesting synonyms, and alternative translations. I have the same problem as you with regard to 여자, think they should give a clue as to the politeness level desired, should rework their instruction and acceptance of the subject and topic postpositions, and try to achieve more consistency in dealing with plurals and whether a subject pronoun is to be included.
Glad to hear you will be back, and maybe we will have more luck using this page as the "central clearing house" for constructive suggestions.
I see on your other post that you said about the first few lessons being a pain, i have been putting off doing reviews because it makes me do those lessons I think there are a few that have the exact same english or romanisation that is not how I would do it I think it was 외 and 의 that have the exact same romanisation so it's just a guessing game, I think it was the italian course that would strengthen older skills because some of the newer skills contained older words, I feel like I should be able to block the Alphabet section from showing up in the review portion, I think it was yesterday I had to do about 3-4 review sessions to get Alphabet 2 to gold but since I already know the alphabet it's just time consuming, yes I probably wont have to do them for 6 months if i get them done but it's the principal
Do you feel there are too many modules and that maybe some could be combined?
I'm not sure if they even need to have english pronoun suggestions as they should just accept the and a/an if they make sense in english ofcourse, the main problems are just lack of consistency within the accepted answers, I feel like they need to do a blanket sweep of certain things, I already gave a few examples in the OP
I saw the Lingodeer course before when it just came out but I couldnt find a way to skip the sections so i didnt bother with it, I hear people say it's really good what do you think?
I haven't tried Lingodeer. I seem to remember reading that it doesn't present as much vocabulary as DL as of yet, though the accolades are intriguing.
As far as DL course organization and number of modules, I agree some could be combined, but wouldn't advocate for a lesser over-all total, because there is so much more that could have been covered. At present, I believe the module count is 65 as compared to more than 90 in the Spanish course. I also think there should be more exercises in each module. I suppose there is a balance DL tries to keep between the gamification and instruction, so that folks will be encouraged by the preceived progress of "completing a unit."
I have actually done substantial Korean study over the years, but am still a long way from any rational definition of "fluent." I was hoping for more from the DL course, but instead am using it mostly to improve my spelling and hangul typing ability. Along the way I am taking some pleasure in reporting and offering alternative translations, and it leads me to further study through investigation, as I don't consider the course "authoritative". There are numerous examples of what I know to be "bad" English, and what i perceive to be "bad" Korean, or at least a failure to anticipate scenarios other than what they had in mind in requiring the desired translation.
I at first had intended to do a module-by-module critique, but may not follow through, as I am also now trying to polish up my Spanish a little, and also seem to find myself spending more and more time in these discussions.
