If you need to be 18+ to be a global ambassador...

Then why does the Incubator Apply page say "I confirm that I am at least 13 years of age."?

Shouldn't it be, "I confirm that I am at least 18 years of age."?

I believe you have to be 13 to help build a course but 18 to moderate the forums. That may vary from country to country, however. I do know that not all course contributors are forum moderators, and not all forum moderators help build courses. They are distinct roles that often overlap.

But don't you have to be 18+ to be a global ambassador, and course contributors are global ambassadors?

Simply because the information/wording there hasn't been updated (for very long time).

So you have to be 18+ plus to contribute? Anyone younger couldn't?

That's what the more recent text that Duo published about it is saying.

Guys, this is one of the best examples of Duolingo using confusing terminology. It's like we need a Duolingo to learn Duolingo's lingo

Yup! Personally, I've given up on the different colour rings and different terms. It's not helping anyone learn languages...

Annika_A, why do you have the Indian flag on your profile?

Because the course buggily-appeared for few dozens of minutes back in time and some persons had time to took some lessons.

Different things? Someone working in the incubator has a different job than someone who's whatever a "global ambassador" happens to be?

Contributors are "Global Ambassadors".
"Global Ambassador" is just a Duo-terminology to refer to anyone who has (at least) one of the four status: Course contributor, Forum moderator, Event host and Teacher ambassador.
