Are there any Esperantists in Kentucky?
I live in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Do any of you ever pass through E-town?
Yes, there are absolutely Esperanto speakers and learners in Kentucky. I see this question asked from time to time. The trick is finding them. Someone will invariable mention "Amikumu" as a tool which can help you find them. I say use all the tools in your tool box. More information on what I mean by that is here:
If you're on Facebook you might ask the question on these two groups, or search the group history for your state name.
I just did - and found a few. (On Facebook.)
Worth a try anyway. My experience has been that there aren't many people on it, few of them respond, and even fewer want to meet up - but I've made at least one contact through a combination of Amikumu and patience. This is why I say "use all the tools in your tool box."
It looks like there is at least one Esperanto meetup group in Kentucky, see: http://esperanto-usa.org/groups/middle_atlantic/en. Also, try checking Meetup.com as well.
Texas is a good place to be learning Esperanto. Of course, it depends on what city you're near.
