Spanish Idioms and Proverbs #2?
I really liked the Spanish Idioms and Proverbs bonus skill, and I would LOVE for Duolingo to make another one, wouldn't you? Also, if you know any other cool Spanish proverbs or sayings PLEASE post them here! ( And you might just get a lingot! ; ) Thanks for commenting!
Perder la cabeza - Fall madly in love with someone Tomar el pelo - Be really annoying? (something along those lines) Estoy harta de - Im tired of! Pase lo que pase - Whatever happens.. Como si fuera poco - As if that weren't enough
few of my favorites ^ just an AP Spanish student, and but its truly beautiful language
¡Chicotea los caracoles! literally whip the snails, means get a wriggle on.
El flojo trabaja doble. A lazy person works twice as much.
Lo barato sale caro. The cheap is expensive (i.e. it will cost more in the long run)
Descubrió que el agua moja. He discovered that water makes things wet, call him Captain Obvious.
Quién mal anda, mal acaba. Who lives badly ends badly, or you reap what you sow.
It's great to have an idioms bonus skill, but I was disappointed in how few idioms were offered. The same scant handful of idioms were repeated within the one lesson, and that was the end of it. This is surely a section which could be expanded.
