"Musel odejít kvůli drahým nožům a vidličkám."

Translation:He had to leave because of expensive knives and forks.

What are the possible backstories for this sentence? My imagination fails me.

LOL Here's my theory: he was responsible for buying cutlery for a public institution and he bought them extra expensive from his cousin, was subsequently caught and had to quit.

Maybe: he couldn't resist and stole some of those while working in a palace and was let go. Of course it was not his fault. Expensive ks and fs were to blame.

Nah, that would really suggest a first person narrator for the sentence. Still, better than anything I could come up with.

I was just thinking the same, bizarre!
