我們一起學貓叫 一起喵喵喵喵喵!

whoever determines the answers should be realise that english is very flexible when it comes to word order

Remember to report your answer so they can add it to the grading key.

Who does this cat belong to

You don't like the simpler sentence "Whose cat is this?"

Well, what do you think about "Who is the bonafide and legal owner & custodian of this feline under advisement?"

Lol. Awesome

They should also realize that the point is to learn Chinese not English. So if you're English translation isn't proper English but you got the main point that should be fine.

You should also realise that the admins have to tell duo all the correct English sentences so it doesn't mark them as wrong, that takes time and help from the users, so you can report it and let them know.

well, they do... the problem is that every accepted answer has to be specifically added, so please tell them what should be marked as correct to improve the program ^_^

Ridiculous "This is whose cat?" is not accepted!

I'm trying to learn Chinese here, not advanced high-level English. It's often more helpful to translate more literally word for word so I can start to regonize the Chinese sentence structure and specific characters rather than be forced to bend every sentence into "perfect" english.

You should translate it to yourself literally, but also understand the logical way it would translate in English. The admins aren't accounting for people using improper English. I advise using the word bank, which will make constructing proper English translations to the best of your ability a little easier. Good luck to you.

Another answer, who does this cat belong to

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Fuzzalex

"Whose cat is it" makes wrong, why?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/LNhtTrng18

这 = this , you must use "this". Ex, who does this cat belong to

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Christophe777620

Who's cat is this? Should be correct

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Aleksander854125

"Whose" is the correct possessive form of "who". "Who's" would actually mean "who is"

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/LNhtTrng18

I need a few sentences, which use "belong to"? Help me

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/M92Y3

这是谁的猫 이것은 누구의 고양이입니까

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Carpetini

Is this the accurate translation to English of that Chinese sentence?

This is Jon's cat. This is whose cat? What? This is whose cat? It's Jon's. Jon's it is. I'm sorry, did you say, "This is whose cat?" Yes. I'm sorry, I didn't catch that. I love turtles. Sorry. Thanks!
