Thank you Duo lingo
I recently got married to a great woman that I met on POF. She said she was Brazilian that didn't mean anything to me. I figured I am second generation Italian, so no problem, right, wrong. She is from San Palo and her English is great. The culture is very friendly so there are a lot of get togethers, the food is great. This is where Duo lingo came in, most of the people speak English too, and are great to speak with me in English, but the primary language is Portuguese. There is a lot of dancing, even learned to Salsa. Most Brazilians are very family oriented too. My wife's parents don't speak a word of English, and are great people. Her mom's trying to teach me Portuguese tongue twisters " É crocogrilo? É crocodrilo? É cocrodilo? É cocodilho? É corcodilho? É crocrodilo? É crocodilho? É corcrodilo? É cocordilo? É jacaré? Será que ninguém acerta O nome do crocodilo maré?
Good luck with that, still have no clue what it means, I hit her with the "Peter Piper picked a peck" one and she just laughs. I found out about your app on our second date and have been working on Portuguese since then. Thank you again Duo lingo for adding so much dimension and love to all our lives. Larry
Sorry for the late response. I am new to Duo Lingo chat. Yes we are, extremely so. We have your normal husband wife fights, with some extra language miss understandings. I keep telling her that next time we fight it should be in Portuguese to be fair. Since one of the first words you learn is I'm sorry, it would be a short fight.
