Musik Für Deutsch Lernen

Hi Guys,

I've been working on learning German since the summer and I have found music to be so helpful in learning new words and pronunciations. There have been a few times I have answered a Duolingo question correctly because I knew a word from a song.

Anyway, I am working on a monster post with many different types of music from many eras, but in the mean time here is a great country band from Germany called Truck Stop. They've been around since the 70s and I like listening to them because they sing clearly and I can understand the words.

So, if you like country music, I think you'll like them...here's one video but there are many on YT....viel späß!

Listening to country music in German is surprisingly amusing! It never even occurred to me that such a thing might exist; thank you for sharing! And you're right that they sing very clearly (the music is very competently put together, too).

I'm looking forward to the contents of your monster post, now...

Truck Stop surprised me, too! I read up on them a bit...seems they were all in rock bands back in the 60s and 70s and then started playing the country songs they heard on American Armed Forces Radio. They allegedly single-handedly started the German Country scene....it is big in Hamburg, so they say!

As for my Monster Music Post, I just have to collect links to YT vids of the various artists to make it more fun and it will be done!

Wir sehen uns

Thank you for that! I enjoy them. They certainly have nailed the style! Especially enjoyed their 2013 Medley.

Don't miss all the other creative German bands. I've been "discovering" German music via You Tube for the last couple of years. Words learned through songs stick with me better than any others.
