The correct and appropriate English equivalent for 고원의 땅 is "highland". The literal translation "The ground of the plateau" is not wrong, but awkward English.

This appears backward. Doesn't 의 indicate possession? So, 고원의 = "the plateau's" and 땅 = "land/ground" so 고원의 땅 = The plateau's ground. Would that be an acceptable translation?
