What does it exactly mean: "I give him into care."?

I don't know what the intended meaning of the German sentence is, but the English sentence doesn't mean anything. It is probably a poorly translated version of the German sentence which I would assume means that the speaker put someone into a healthcare facility (senior's home or something like that). I'm not a native German speaker though, so wait for someone else to comment on the German sentence.

I suppose there's no perfect English translation for this sentence. The closest I can think of is "I'm providing him with care" as in hospital emergency care, or "I'm taking care of him."

Actually, "I'm taking him into care" sounds better. Going to see if they'll accept that.
