Crowd sourcing stories

What about having the community make stories. We would need willing native speakers to proof read. Duolingo could give us the file format so that all the staff would need to do is pick the ones they like and load them.

That sounds like a neat idea, is it truly feasible though?

Seeing how Immersion was shut down, probably not.

Highly unlikely. The biggest problem that I see is controlling the quality of translation. Proof reading is quite a skilled job and not all native speakers would be qualified to proof read documents. Another problem would be determining any copywrite issues which would require more work for Duolingo than just picking the stories they like, as the publishers they would be legally liable.
