Completely normal. People would usually say dad's instead of father's though.

There are some downvotes on comments saying it would be "(My) Dad's..." I just wanted to add a vote that that is what it would take to sound natural. Unless you have a cold, bizarre relationship with your dad, we say dad, papa, daddy. Father is just the term for the relationship unless someone is emphasizing distance.
