New Italian Voice?
I restarted the Italian course from scratch today, and I noticed that when you hover over words, there is a new/different voice. The old voice is still there when there are audio exercises or audio for the sentence as a whole.
In my opinion, the new voice seems worse. A lot more grainy and less professional. There are also a few errors I noticed even in the first skill...can't wait to see how that will go further down the tree.
What do you think?
For me the new voice has a worse quality but it doesn't sound as robotic as the original voice (and the voice you still hear when the whole sentence is pronounced). It was also added to Portuguese, but there the stress is rather off. At least noticeably more than in Italian
I agree. When I first heard this voice I thought there was something wrong with my computer. It sounds like they took the original woman's voice and gave her the flu and stuffed her in a box. Why does Duolingo make unnecessary changes like this?
The new voice is worse. I've also noticed some errors when going through the first three lessons...
This new voice recordings are in TERRIBLE quality, like 64kbps. I am genuinely surprised that such an horrible update was actually released.
C'mon now, you'll have to get used to all sorts of voices at all sorts of kbps if you visit Italy. This is good training! Auguri...L
I was a little confused when I first heard the new voice on words. It does seem to sound more grainy / lower quality like others have mentioned, but it's not a big deal for me. It may be a good thing to have another different voice in the course, as it helps to get used to slightly different accents when listening to words.
