That's a pretty convoluted and unnatural translation, not something a native speaker would ever say. You were laughing and walking to the bar.
Probably the DL authors used “towards” to make it clear he was just moving in the direction to (spre) the bar, and did not necessarily reach it. As for the order between “walk” and “laugh,” it depends on what you want to express.
