korean letters that begin with w..
Many of these chracters sound the same and it is almost impossible to distinguish anything in the audio so whyyyyyyy is the phonetic spelling different?
Get away from romanization and phonetic spelling as soon as possible. It will only slow you down and mess up your Korean pronunciation. Keep in mind the Korean symbols are not "characters", but letters, just like The A,B,C's of English. The phonetic spelling is only useful at the very first to give you an approximation of the pronunciation. Adapt your keyboard to typing in Korean--it only takes a minute. There are several excellent Youtube sites where you can learn the hangul alphabet and the pronunciation in less than an hour. Several suggestions for helpful sites can be found throughout the discussions of the Korean forum.
