'Duh' is of Slavic origin, while 'spirit' comes from Latin. It's also interesting to know that, when referring to the Holy Ghost, Orthodox Romanians say 'Sfântul Duh', while Catholics and Greco-Romans say 'Sfântul Spirit'.
