where is the progress test and what to do with all the lingots?
Hello to all of you! Can somebody please explain to me, why the progress test suddenly disappeared? :/ I am also confused about lingots. We all are collecting them, but there is nothing to buy. Do you think it will change? Or another option: Are lingots another thing, that will soon disappear?
Thanks for answer. :) Tschüss!
Keep your lingots, maybe one day they'll become the new cryptocurrency fad.
Seriously, if you already have everything from the store, you can reward people with good answers for instance.
If anything the store should be filled with bonus skills... that's the easiest and most obvious idea I can think of for us to put our lingots to good use.
I'm currently buying Weekend Amulets and Double or Nothing thingies, both items I don't need, to get to the 200 mark.
Do I care about achievements? Not much, but that's just the completist in my talking. I will not have the clubs achievement though, so... no Grand Slam for me.
what are Weekend Amulets and how do you get them? and also, what is the Grand Slam?
Weekend Amulets you can only get on the App... they allow you to freeze your streak for a weekend.
Grand Slam is a ad-hoc term I've coined for getting all the achievements.
Looks like you have been away from DuoLingo a longer time.
The "Progress quiz" was available on the old Python web portal (old code) and was removed early 2017 when they rolled out their new Scala web portal (new code).
They just have not rewritten it for Scala...
But the good news is, that it is just hidden and you can still access it (big thanks to those community members who posted it earlier!!!)
"Progress quiz (we would rather focus efforts on creating other, more popular shop items)
This doesn't make sense to me. First of all why remove it immediately if it was going to take so many months to add new items? Second I don't see why they can't just keep the test and add more popular items along with it. And third I would rather have more useful items like ways to challenge myself, check progress or bonus skills than fun items that don't really do anything.
