Ordering food in Mandarin
I’m trying to make some videos using Mandarin out in the wild: https://youtu.be/ZTOH6bgBtxE
Would love feedback — I’m hoping these real world examples will help people the most. Also, if you haven’t had a chance to try and use your Chinese yet, I think getting out there and using it is a great way to improve, especially if it is hard :)
Hi Austin, thanks again for the video. I'm going to ask you a big favor. I recongnized a lot of the characters in the video but not all, so I wonder if you could put the captions for youtube， or put them in the description of the video, that way I can hover over the character and see the meaning through Chinese popup dictionary. I can't do it now because the Chrome extension needs text not image to be able to translate it. 你的中文非常好。恭喜啊。
Sure thing! What do you mean by captions from YouTube? Is that the automatic YouTube translation, or is there an ability to upload captions?
If not, I’d be happy to add the text.
Thank you, it's very interesting, I like to see you talking there with natives but can you make videos for beginners too? With very simple things? Step by step? Tones, pronounciation, greetings, introduce yourself, numbers .... Nǐ jiào, Wǒ jiào, Nǐ jiào shénme míngzì, Hěn gāoxìng rènshì nǐ .... Chinese is new for me and English is not my first language. Thanks a lot.
Yeah I can definitely try to incorporate more introductory phrases and words :)
