"Vor einem Jahr" vs "vor zwei Jahren"

Why when we say "vor einem jahr" we dont see any change for "jahr" but when we say "vor zwei jahren" a "en" adds to it?if its is weak noun and in dative place so why it doesnt come as "vor einem jahren"?

One year is singular, two years is plural ...

Two reasons. "Jahre" is plural of "Jahr" and because the preposition "vor" takes dative case the "n" is added to make "Jahren" . Most dative plurals end in "n" - not all, but most.
