account in a language I can't read

My student's account has somehow been switched to Arabic and I have tried to switch it back, following the steps provided in the help forum. I even deactivated her account but it still always comes back in Arabic when we try to log on with Google. Any other ideas?

Things like that actually happen quite often when people want to try out reverse languages, but are not aware that it will change the language of the interface, too.

To fix this, you need to go to (https://www.duolingo.com/courses). There, click on "English: الإنجليزية" from the dropdown menu on the right:

Choose a language, doesn't matter which one, then click on:

and wait for the site to reload. The site should be in English now :)

Mya's right. Make sure you don't forget the final 'go to course' click when you've picked a course.

I had this happen once. Try going to another language as if you're going to do drills (make sure your language is set right before), and start doing it. It should reset, at least this worked for me. Удачи
