Some of the old comments in sentence discussion appeared just after I published my own comment. Why?
It happened in this discussion thread: https://www.duolingo.com/comment/22304803
When I opened it, I could see only three existing comments:
ChristianR32353 [Hors contexte, cette phrase n'a pas de sens.]
AMARA585395 ["aux nouveaux amis" ou "à de nouveaux amis" c'est la même chose ! à accepter.]
alejuventino49 [Même question que Mullie pour ma part]
After publishing my comment another, much older, comment appeared. The latter has a total of eight replies:
Detry2 [aux nouveaux amis devrait être accepté : aux est la contraction de : à de(s)]
replies from: quis_lib_duo, Detry2, Mullie2, Miauya (2), GrardBarro (2), MonaLisa1090
Why didn't all these appear from the beginning?
I understand what lag is. I played some player-vs-player game years ago. Spaceships chasing, shooting, being popped before even getting the chance to see the enemy, etc.
However, I don't understand how forums can be laggy. Basically, this is text sent over the network. The most basic aspect of the internet, isn't it? Didn't the internet start with this? And now that we are so advanced, we can't manage it anymore?
I agree, lag is the best word for it. By the way, what a great discussion on that thread!
