Kudos to Welsh team

I'd like to compliment the Welsh team on their commitment to improving the course. The response I've had when suggesting alternative translations is very fast- usually within one or two days. Yesterday I got a notification that an American version of a translation to English was being accepted from a suggestion I had made the previous day. This is much faster than any of the other languages. Some apparently take more than a year to review "My answer should be accepted" submissions. Thank you so much - it makes it really worthwhile to take the time to report omissions.

The Welsh team seem to work very hard in general. Not only is their course very comprehensive, but they've tied it in to the Cwrs Mynediad and Cwrs Sylfaen taught in Wales to adult learners. They are also very good at getting back to comments in the forum. It's made learning Welsh a great experience for me... even though I tend to go no further than Cardiff and will probably never use it in the wild :(

We appreciate the feedback, thank you. If you are in Cardiff you have many opportunities to use your Welsh - pop into the cafe in Yr Hen Lyfrgell for a start!

I would certainly agree with all of the above - I have been doing Welsh on Duo Lingo since last August - its been great. It has also come on leaps and bounds and you have been very responsive - so I would give tip top feedback for some impressive work - amazing.

I also started doing Say Something In Welsh (SSIW) in October - I can see you have a link to it from your site - as you say it is focused on the auditory side - and is very successful at getting people speaking. Duo Lingo and SSIW go extremely well together I find, using them both.

I notice that part of what you have done is aligned it with formal qualifications which sounds like a great idea. Within the '1 million speakers' initiative on the SSIW discussion board there was the question as to whether something similar could be achieved with the vocabulary in SSIW - to help people getting started with a foundation vocab and grammar which is consistent (i.e. keep the variations down to begin with).

Exactly how this would/ could work would be the challenge of course(!) I'd be really interested to know what your thoughts would be on something like that.

Thank you for the great work.

Go on and try it in the wild! I was terrified at first but every time I have a go I get a huge amount of support and encouragement. It's gwych!
