I signed up on Duolingo 4 years ago.
I was on here consistently, for 6 months or so.
I don't know why I left, because during that time I learned that learning languages calmed me.
But, here I am, in this part of my life. I restarted the trees a week ago. (Started French yesterday)
It's great to be back.
Again,,thanks Duolingo, and all these wonderful progressive changes, and languages.
I know my heart is in German. My love of reading is in French. And I know somewhere down the road, I'll add one more.
I posted the following to someone else recently and it seems appropriate to share with you also.
“Quot linguas calles, tot homines vales”. (“As many languages you speak, so many times are you human”.)
The quote is by Emperor Charles V (1500-1558), who also said: “I speak in Latin to God, Italian to women, French to men, and German to my horse”.
The good news is that with the ease of double click translation you can start reading real French by about 2/3 the way through your tree.
