Does anyone here know any good oldies sung in German? I'm into more uptempo things such as this:
I've looked through past threads as well, I was just wondering if anyone here knew anything else thats good. Thanks!
I absolutely love this type of music as well! I didn't know any in German until now, thanks! My favorite band (in English) would have to be The Crew Cuts, you should check them out :D
Edelwiess, but I imagine that's the opposite of what you're after.
Probably I'm beating a dead horse here, but listening to your exemples, I was showed this playlist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7kMAnTsnhslist=PLSzNd6FgfmJYtco5AUs4kD7qiEntL8ywt Maybe something here will catch your ear?

Hi, I have to start off by saying my laptop is acting up terribly so I can't provide Youtube links for the following list, but a quick search will give you great results! I am working on a mondo music post, but because of my crappy computer it is taking a long time....here goes the list!
Bill Ramsey: an American who made it big in Germany upbeat pop jazz...great song to start with: Ohne Krimi Gehts Die Mimi Nie Ins Bett
Alma Cogan: British singer who sang great German language stuff and had an affair with John Lennon no less...
Rita Paul: Jazz and pop singer from Berlin....sang with Walter Dobchinsky Orchestra in 47....all her stuff is great...especially duets with Bully Buhlan
Drafi Deutscher: Marmor, Stein, Und Eisen Bricht...awesome early rock! Everything by him in the early 60s is great!
Wenki Mayer: Not sure if the spelling is right...Norwegian pop singer singing in German....fun 60s pop!
Gus Backus: Another American who made it big in Germany in the 60s...Listen to Sauerkraut Polka....love it!
For country music listen to Truck Stop...Ich Mochte Gern Dave Dudley hören....all their stuff is great
For 30s National Socialist era jazz(Goebels hated American Jazz so he banned some of this stuff) Listen to Ilse Warner, Zeah Leander, Lale Anderson...I may have their names spelled wrong but Youtube will figure it out!
For 20s Weimar Republic music you can get no better than the Comedian Harmonists....great harmony singing!
Max Raabe: He is a current singer that sings old songs from the 20s, 30s and 40s primarily....
I will be making a post with links to all of this and much much more when my PC situation improves...hope all this gets ya started! There is tons of great music out there besides Ramstein, lol...
