I really wish they had a better streak protection system. Mine was 1200 days. And now it's all gone. Just getting one day or one weekend really isn't enough when things get so busy that you can't find the time, or you're out of a coverage zone and just can't get online.

I agree. It's hard to take a vacation, or travel to another country with less internet service. I've been lucky so far.

I think that with 800 days, a person could miss a couple days without losing much Spanish.

They say it's not good to overstudy (to binge). Yet occasional breaks can be revitalizing, and not having a break can hinder learning.

I think you might be able to pay like 10-15 dollars to have a streak reset?

But in the end it is just a number, sure you might have got attached to that number, but you didnt lose the knowledge you learned over those 800 days.

Also 800 days for the spanish coarse? have i seriously under esitimated the 2nd half of the coarse? Cause I am about half way i think and have been at it 100 days. Or did you take it nice and slow. Not trying to have a go at you or anything, just curious if I have another 700 days a head of me or what.

It looks like he's at a level 24 so he might be doing like I was, trying to get xp up & get to a level 25 about the same time as trying to finish the tree. If you finish at a lower level you should be able to finish a lot quicker.

No, I finished the tree quickly. it was a long time ago so I don’t remember exactly but I think ir was in the first week maybe two. i put in more time then and as time went on I at times did the mininum of 10 xp on many days. i am living in Ecuador and use other methods along with Duo Lingo. If anyone wants to see how the course levels increase as you progress it is not difficult to google the info or check the forum . The points to reach a higher level are greater. But the whole point of the post is to bring attention to the problem knowone ever said you may or may not lose your knowledge that is irrelevant to the loss of streak points or whether they are important to YOU. I don’t care if they are not important to anyone else. I have put in over 800 days which took a lot of time and effort and i dont want to lose my streak on a faulty bug in the system it is important to me, I CARE ABOUT THE STREAK. Again If it is little value to anyone else fine.

Yeah, that sounds annoying. Having a high streak can be really motivating. I hope someone can help you. Have you tried contacting a moderator?

Yeah i meant half way through the skills not half way to level 25. I thought you were saying you spent 800 days to complete all the skills. but sounds like you did those early and have just been doing the minimum to keep the streak going.

Also am i seeing things here or does it not say you have a 843 day streak right now? Did you get your streak restored? Or is that just displaying your highest streak?

Did you look into paying for a streak restore? I believe on the iphone app it gives you an option when you lose it.

My kids tease me that I bought my streak because I missed a couple of days in the last two years and the streak protection kicked in.
