Sandwich in Mexico

I live in Mexico part time and I have always heard a sandwich called a torta.

And I bet I'm not the only person to ever post this :)

A "torta" is somewhat like a sub sandwich. A thick bun like a hotdog bun. At least in the parts of Mexico I have been.
However, there are other kinds of "bocadillos" also.

I ate lots of tortas because they were cheap, good, and filling.
