Why is it die männer?

That makes no sense because männer means men, so why is it not der männer?

In the plural, all nouns use the article die, regardless of their gender:

Der Mann (the man) -> Die Männer (the men)

Die Frau (the woman) -> Die Frauen (the women)

Das Kind (the child) -> Die Kinder (the children)
