Doubling Chinese/Mandarin for Japanese?
What do you guys think? It could help with kanji, but a lot of kanji in Japan and mandarin characters are subtly different, so it may do more harm. What do you guys think?
Edit: Okay, this is very frustrating. I'm wondering if I should do Mandarin as well to help with Japanese.
Edit: I decided not to do this, but I'd like to continue this discussion!
The question is well beyond my expertise level, but I suppose the answer would depend on the importance you place on being able to handwrite the languages, and if you actually want to learn Chinese or would only be doing it because if the overlapping writing system.
