Future Tense I and Dative Question
Is the possessive pronoun below in the Dative case because of the verb Folgen?
I want to confirm that the verb that is "bumped" to the end of the sentence still can trigger the Dative case when Werden is used.
"Ich werde meinem Hund folgen
Werden is only an auxiliary verb. Whether a word takes the dative or accusative case is dependent on the main verb, i.e. the verb that conveys the action of the sentence, which is folgen in your example. And this verb indeed triggers the dative instead of the accusative case.
