Finished my English tree

Hello Duolingo friends I have finished my English tree and I am proud of myself because I have learned a lot thanks to Duolingo, but when I watch an English movie it is still hard to me to understand what they are saying, so what should I do to understand better? THANKS

Try watching it with English subtitles, so you can read along. Your reading skill is probably better than listening, especially when the actors talk fast, by not using subtitles in your own language you connect speech to the written words better.

Another option would be trying audiobooks while reading along in the book.

And most importantly don't despair if you don't get 100% of the words, you will probably still get more than you think from context and it will get better over time.

Firstly, well done. It will get easier the more you listen, BUT never try to understand/translate every single word. Sometimes it is better to get only the gist (the general meaning) of the conversation and then build on that. I don't translate/understand every Italian conversation but I get the gist of it. Enjoy your learning.

Congratulations!! I think the best way to practise listening is to start with kids shows, such as Sesame Street or even a cartoon like the Simpsons. Also podcasts made for beginner and intermediate levels can help. If you have a favourite animated movie you can watch it in a language you know and then watch it again in English. Extra is also a great series (a bit like freinds) that is on youtube and is made for intermediate learners. I am sure you will be enjoying movies and t.v. in English in no time!

English is a language that is spoken casually. You will get it some day, it will click.

You may wish to explain how "English is spoken casually". This could be confusing for those learning English.
