I didn't miss a day but my streak disappeared

I met the goal yesterday yet today it says I didn't and my streak is gone. Not happy. There have been too many problems lately from sentences that are poor translations to claiming errors that don't exist to having something marked wrong, writing what was posted as the correct answer the next time it come up only to have that marked wrong as well with another "correct" answer shown to the "repeat after me" part either not recognizing what I say and marking it wrong (and yes, I do know how to pronounce the words) or not giving me time to finish (and yes, I do speak at the same rate as the recorded voice). I've already cut back on this site...if this is how it's going to be, it might be time to leave.

Were you using a mobile device (smart phone, tablet) or a laptop over WiFi? If so, you probably had some drops in your connection.

Did you switch to daylight savings time this weekend? Duolingo registered a lesson 11 minutes before you created this post, and a lesson 24 hours and 52 minutes before that.

I try to always keep a streak freeze purchased, and to frequently check that I still have it. I've been surprised to see it available for sale in the store occasionally when I didn't think I'd missed meeting my daily goal.

I hadn't thought about daylight savings time. We did change here but I made sure that I met the goal during each day, local time, which, as a computer program, Duolingo ought to have been able to handle. I may not leave forever but I'm pretty sure I'll be around a lot less, at least for a while. Lately I've been more frustrated than educated.

I also didn't know that a streak freeze could be purchased and held if not used. I rather got the impression that it had to be bought the day it was used. That might be something to clarify on the Lingots page.

Hi, other users, including me, have also lost huge streaks due to glitches. But don't leave - there is much else about Duo to stay for!

Think of all that you have learnt, not the length of your streak which is merely a number. I lost 355 day streak (a glitch) but have since enjoyed the freedom from keeping a streak going. I now learn because I love learning, every day, streak or no streak. Don't leave, just move on. Best wishes, L.

My streak disappeared last night as well! My XP graph retroactively changed FOUR days later, and took my streak away - at the very worst, according to this graph, I should have a 4-day streak, but it didn't even give me that. Maintaining my streak has been a good motivator to keep me on it each day. It's very frustrating to see glitches like this.
