I'm pretty sure "las peliculas" is wrong, or at least an awkward translation. "Pelicula" is translated as a specific movie/film. "Cine" is Spanish for "movie theater", often said as "movies" in English. They're close but there's a difference. You're translation would suggest an invitation to a number of specific films, which would be uncommon.
