Translation:Carmen, te invito al cine.

I said, "te invitó a las peliculas“ and was marked wrong. I have reported it.

I'm pretty sure "las peliculas" is wrong, or at least an awkward translation. "Pelicula" is translated as a specific movie/film. "Cine" is Spanish for "movie theater", often said as "movies" in English. They're close but there's a difference. You're translation would suggest an invitation to a number of specific films, which would be uncommon.

Hahaha I thought it was "al cena" but I remembered "cena" is feminine. I just thought it was interesting how close they sounded but how different they are

Sure thought te was you . But the correct choice was not in the drop down. Nor an explaination about this unique you is i .

This is a pretty awkward sentence in English.
