Why " sie haben die Schlange im Schrank gefunden, unter den Hemden" is wrong?

Sentence structure probably -> Sie haben die Schlange im Schrank unter den Hemden gefunden

Is "Schrank" really a closet, or a cabinet? These are different things in English.

My understanding is yes. Most German homes don't come with built-in closets, like in America. Many Germans purchase some type of wardrobe/bureau/dresser to keep their clothes.

Hey Duo, guess who will use the same shirt for the rest of his life? I'm never opening my closet again

Why not "sie haben... gefunden"?

It is correct: "Sie haben die Schlange im Schrank unter den Hemden gefunden".

Please disconsider the comment above (seems we cannot delete comments). I had written eine Schlange, Duo wanted die Schlange, so it marked wrong my haben gefunden. Bah!
