Yes. You cannot say "Inglés es fácil" when you speak about the language, it is only acceptable when you speak about the subject of study, i.e. a class at school or college. It is the same with "matemáticas": "Me gusta Matemáticas" (your Math class) and "Me gustan las matemáticas" (the science itself).
