LOST STREAK?

I logged on and did two units on SAT but the systems gave me only 10XP ? Monday I lost the 500 Gems I had and a few units registered uncomplete I was on a 55 day streak and intend to keep this up until I go to Vietnam in June. Can you please put my Streak back. Love using your app everyday Thanks Stuart

You can a) reduce your target to 10 XP or even 1 XP and buy a streak freeze with your lingots in case it happens again.

Sorry that happened. If your streak isn’t repaired, for whatever reason, try not to let it discourage you from your learning goals. Besides YOU will always KNOW your true streak. Hang in there.

Are you sure you logged in under the same account? You should not lose all your progress, streak and gems out of the blue unless you accidentally logged in to the wrong account (or created a new one).

Could you please move this to the troubleshooting forum? Don't create a new discussion, just edit this one and select the appropriate forum from the drop down list.


From what I can tell, there is no registered lesson/practice for Friday and that's why you lost your streak.
The best way to keep your streak is to lower the goal to 1XP in all the languages you are learning so that even if you have little time to practice it is easy to do so.

No I did both on Friday while I was on the Train and Sat down and did my session on the laptop Saturday and Sunday so I dont understand why it did not register? Can you Please put it back Thanks Stuart

Tips for keeping your future streak

2) Losing a streak is a common complaint from people using .....

  • Wifi, LTE/4G
  • outdated browsers and/or operating systems

3) It's always a good idea .......

  • to check whether your device has had a chance to synchronise with Duolingo's servers.

4) Why would it not synchronise? My Wifi/4G/LTE is okay
Because Duolingo has issues in synchronising, almost every day.

5) Workaround
Always check if your device has synchronised with Duolingo's servers after doing a lesson. Sometimes it can take 5-10 minutes after finishing a lesson.

No, that is not possible.
Reasons:

  1. Every user is responsible for their own synchronising with Duolingo's servers and for checking and buying their own "streak freeze" to keep their streak going.

  2. Moderators are not members of Duolingo's staff. They are only unpaid volunteers, and users like you. So, moderators are not able to put a streak back.
