It seems to be a discrepency between the question and the answer. The question emphasises the verb LOOK ( did look ) , but it does not find its equivalent in the answer. Or is there something else i did not understand ? Also: i think, Look AT the daughter would be a better usage in English.

You could have said "o pai realmente olhou para a filha" to emphasize.
