Le singe sounds odd to me!!

To me sounds more like "les" (lay) singes not "le" (luh) singe

When do we know les is interpreted as "the" and not thrown out the window as "some"?

Why isn't "The ape has the bananas." an acceptable translation?

It is now accepted, thank you!

Great, I hope the monkey isn't offended!

"Le banane" sounds exactly like "les bananes", but it is not accepted as a transcription. Bad Duo.

Le sounds similar to "luh" and les sounds about like "lay". They don't sound exactly alike!
Also, it is la banane.

The recording is really poor. I had to listen to 'singe' so many times that I forgot that it was 'la' and not 'les', so got it wrong anyway! 'la' is clear to me but 'singe' is not.

sounds more like a hiccough than "singe"

The speaker sounds like she's in pain when she says "singe."
