How do I differentiate in french between "I eat and I am eating?" Somebody please help!

Both are acceptable for “je mange”, unless you really want to emphasize that you are actually in the middle of doing something, then you could use the expression “je suis en train de faire...”

I tried "I eat the red strawberry." and it was not accepted as correct. On further thought if I wanted to say something habitual, I would say "I eat red strawberries." The continuous does make much more sense here.
