french level 24

I started Duolingo 16/2/17 and made level 24 today which means one needs to make 64 points a day to achieve it. Phew!

I've been on three years and still have 900 lessons to go before I hit 24! Congrats :)

Congratulations! I'm currently running at a higher daily rate than that, but even so it it is going to take me a long time to get where you are, assuming I can maintain the efforts levels.

Thank you Adam. It does not get too much harder but you will need more points to go up a level. Just keep at it. Bon courage.

How do you keep motivated?

I find some exercises very tedious and repetitive in that I know it by heart and all I end up doing is making errors (usually in English) and getting annoyed with myself.

At the same time some stuff doesn't stick and I really struggle with it every time I see it.

On an average day what mix of, strengthening, levelling-up and new exercises did you you? I'm trying to do a bit of everything at the moment but as I get to the higher levels on some of the tasks they to get tedious to do....

I have access to French speakers, books and French radio and music so I am not exclusive to Duolingo, but I am fining it an easier way to drill myself than some others I've tried.

Finally do you feel spontaneous yet in French? I find that the exercises are getting easier and I am getting quicker, but once the sentences get a little longer or I need to create something on my own I start to struggle. I have found that my gut instinct is often right and I usually guess the write answer if I'm not sure so I must be getting a feel for French...!

I know how you feel. I just treat the whole thing as a challenge. I don't know at your level if you have access to the stories, they are good to do and help break the tedium. Don't aim to always do the same number of points each day just do what you feel like doing. You will get there. Good luck.
