Agreed. au = à + le = "to the" or simply "to". I don't know why it is translated to "into" here.
Also, why is this sentence using Imparfait? That should translate to "She was taking the case to (the) court". Was taking is progressive past while the translation indicates a past event that has been completed and is not ongoing.
