"i am sorry to disturb you" or "I"m sorry to disturb you" also needs to be accepted.

Any time you see "I am", "I'm" will always be an accepted alternative.

Thanks. The dilemma here is the translation Duolingo insists on doesn’t appear to include “I am” or “I’m.” We are given only “Sorry. ....”

Why should it when the French isn't "Je suis désolé"?

It is accepting "I'm sorry..." now.

Why doesn't it accept 'sorry to trouble you'? It means the same in English.
