Why do the suggested translations for "are" include just about everything except the correct/required/relevant translations, instead making only incorrect and misleading suggestions?

If the subjunctive is required, the subjunctive is what the hints ought to suggest.

'Qu'ils soient content me rend content' marked incorrect. 'Content' has been accepted numerous times as a translation for 'happy' in previous exercises.??

Perhaps the subjunctive is required in what looks like a statement of fact (the fact that they are happy) can be explained by turning the sentence round: I am happy that they are happy.
